The Nepal Children’s Foundation is honoured to be a part of the lives of 13 beautiful children in Bandipur, Nepal. Working alongside a loving Nepali family who opened their hearts and their doors to these children, it’s our mission to educate, empower and enrich their lives, and we’re making sure they get a chance at the bright future they deserve.
All the children were orphaned or abandoned, and when they first arrived at the home it was clear they’d been affected by poverty, trauma, disease, and abuse. Now they have the opportunity to grow up in a loving, nurturing home with a happy family that cares about them.
Today the children have bright, confident smiles, go to school every day, help out around the house, and are clearly loving life. They are smart, artistic, playful, funny, and filled with joy. They’re growing into natural leaders, nurturing their younger siblings, and forever inspiring us to do more.
It all started in 2008 when two honeymooning trekkers in Nepal, Marcie and Carmen Esau, had an encounter with a local Nepali couple that would change their lives. 10 years later, and 13 children are growing up in a healthy home in the tiny Nepali Village of Bandipur with a mother and father that are dedicated to providing them with a happy home, and a future full of possibilities. It’s Been Ten Years!
We’re celebrating 10 years of providing for these kids, and offering them a bright future. As we watch them grow, we’re excited as the newest and youngest members of the home gain confidence, and we can’t wait to provide continued support to the older children as they begin to make plans to go to university, pick a career, and become an integral part of their communities.
