The Nepal Children’s Foundation is committed to providing a nurturing home, education, and future opportunities to orphaned or abandoned children in Nepal. We are a small group of young professionals from Canada, working to help provide shelter, quality education, and empowerment to these children who are building their confidence and developing the skills they need to transform their own lives, and shape their communities.
We work in partnership with a loving Nepali family of 4, who have opened their hearts and their home to these kids. Dipak and Krishna treat the children like their own, and model love, acceptance, and leadership, supporting these children in the best home anyone could ask for.
Marcie – President
“I am a mama of two, an artist, and a perpetual over-thinker. I ask too many questions. I love to read and learn everything I can about how people think, and how the world works. If I were an animal, I would be a cat– a very curious outside cat, to be specific. Of course, I love Nepal! My favorite thing about Nepal is the smell of wood fires mingling in the fresh mountain air.”
Amanda – Secretary
Amanda has a passion for global work and global connectedness. For the past 7 years, she’s worked as a nurse educator in Vancouver and teaches clinical, nursing research, and global health. Once she completes her Master’s in Nursing, she will finally be able to peel away from her computer and resume her favorite hobbies that have been on hold including: hiking, biking, painting, camping, and sleeping. Her current (sparse) free-time is usually spent trying to find ways to travel to Kelowna to snuggle and play with her three darling nieces.
Vanessa – Communications Director
“I’ve been location independent for the past four years, and have had the opportunity to travel all around the world, including several visits to the Children’s Home in Nepal. I travel to experience other cultures first hand, and to learn that there’s not one ‘right’ way to live. For the next few months I’m happily based in Medellin, Colombia, and I’m enjoying having a bit more free time to read, write, practice yoga, hike, boulder, dance, perfect my second language, and drink delicious coffee.”
